CURAHEE (g, 2, War of Will–Blameitonthemusic, by Blame) graduated with a professional six-length tally over the Colonial turf course Thursday. The even-money favorite, looking to become the fourth winner for his freshman sire (by War Front), broke sharply and was on the lead in the early strides. He sat a pressing second as Lazio (Bucchero) had the lead through an opening quarter in :22.17. Curahee stuck a head in front at the top of the lane and skipped clear to the wire.
Curahee, a $70,000 purchase at the OBS March sale earlier this year, chased the pace before fading to sixth in his five-furlong debut over the Laurel main track June 23. He is the only foal out of Blameitonthemusic, who died in 2022. The mare was a half-sister to graded winner She Can't Sing (Bernardini), who sold for $1.1 million as part of the Lothenbach dispersal at the Fasig-Tipton February sale this year.
Earlier Thursday, War of Will was represented by Will Reign, who was second on his debut at Saratoga. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by FanDuel TV. Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-0, $36,940.
